Head to Inkopolis Tower (it's the really tall one) and choose Regular Battle to get started. Playing online lets you level up and earn in-game coins for new gear.
You can aim using the GamePad controller's intuitive motion controls, and even tap the touchscreen to Super Jump to an ally's location if you get splatted during the game.
But your GamePad also gives you major intel with the Turf Map, which shows you where you've inked and where to go next.

Create a squid squad with your friends and head into a Ranked Battle together. You can team up with one, two, or three other people to create your squad.
Two to eight friends can fling ink in private, customizable matches. You choose the stage and the mode!
Private Battle also allows players to hold small-scale custom tournaments using up to 8 Wii U consoles and games on a single Internet connection.
Use your smarts and squid powers to save the Great Zapfish for the evil Octarian army in single-player story mode. Go get those Octojerks, bucko!
