Squid Research Lab makes new discoveries about Big Run, Tricolor Turf War, and X Battles
Squid Research Lab here! Our continued on-location research in the Splatlands has uncovered some new, as they say, “stuff” about Inkling and Octoling activity in the Splatoon™ 3 game kicking off in Chill Season 2022.
Here comes the executive summary! Please read the full report for more info.
Dive in to X Battles
It seems that truly eel-ite players are now schooling each other in newly added X Battles*. From the looks of it, you can’t even attempt to splat it out and gain X Power unless you’re ranked S+0 or above.
Oh, and contenders have to face this challenge alone—diving in with a team of friends is not allowed.
Enlist for a Big Run
The Salmonids of the Splatlands sure are ferocious, and they occasionally make their way into regions inhabited by Inklings and Octolings. This phenomenon is known as a “Big Run.” For Grizzco Industries, this is a great opportunity to gather a ton of Golden Eggs, and it seems the company will temporarily offer greater incentives to boost recruitment.
Changes to Tricolor Turf War
Rule change! Now, no matter which Splatfest team you’re on, you have an opportunity to be either an attacker or defender in Tricolor Turf War battles*. Everything else remains the same—4-on-2-on-2 battles, ink the most turf to win, scramble for control of the Ultra Signal, and all that.
