Money, Fame, or Love? Pick a side and battle it out in the next Splatfest!

August Splatfest

Hello again, fellow researchers! The Squid Research Lab is dedicated to keeping you up to date with the latest in the Splatoon™ 3 game. Our dutiful poking and prodding have produced some details on the latest Splatfest*!

For those who may not know, Splatfests are special in-game events in Splatoon 3. They’re a time to experience a festive atmosphere while you give your opinion on themes that spark great debate and then fight for your side.

What’s the question this time? Squid Roll, please!

(So dramatic!)

The question for this Splatfest is: What’s most important in life? Money, Fame, or Love?

Our data shows that this is a pretty heavy question. Will you pick Money and side with the almighty Battle Cash? Fame across the Splatlands more your thing? Or maybe you think Love really is all you need?

The next Splatfest begins Friday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. PT and ends Sunday, Aug. 13 at 4:59 p.m. PT.

How do I choose a side?

Head to the festival stall in Splatsville or Inkopolis Square** to choose a side, get your team’s in-game T-shirt, and start representing your pick. You’ll be on this side for the entire event, so choose wisely!

Every time you gain a level in your in-game Catalog, you are also given something called a Conch Shell. These can be redeemed at the Shell-Out Machine in the Lobby for fun little goodies. The number of conch shells collected by each team also impacts the final results, so redeem early and redeem often!

What else changes during a Splatfest?

A bunch of stuff does! In addition to how the surroundings look and sound, these Splatfest Battle types will replace the normal ones: Open, Pro, and (halfway through the event) Tricolor. In “Open,” you can enter a match with a group of friends—you’ll also earn Clout to help your side, win or lose. Pick “Pro” if you’re more of a solo player—everyone on the teams will be randomized, but you’ll only earn Clout if you win your Turf War battle.

What do you get for winning a Splatfest?

Everyone who participates will get Super Sea Snails after the Splatfest, with the winning side getting a few more. Talk to Murch who hangs outside the Lobby in Splatsville (or Spyke loitering in the side alley of Inkopolis Square**) if you’re not sure what to do with them. The short version is that they can help you upgrade your gear.

Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass

Oh, and if you have something called the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass DLC**, don’t forget that you can take a scenic little trip to Inkopolis Plaza to see how those fancy city dwellers celebrate. The dazzling Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie, will also be performing there during the Splatfest!

Secret pro tip

This is confidential, but the people must know! If you’re in the market for ability chunks, talk to Murch or Spyke during the Splatfest. Scrubbing equipment off your Splatfest Tee is much cheaper than normal, so you can scrub-a-dub way more than usual and get way more ability chunks. Let the good chunks roll!

Now, go out there and splat, Splat, SPLAT! Good luck!
